Birthday Bones, and more!

We finished celebrating Viola's birthday with a family trip to the Natural History Museum in Denver.
She got to touch a real dinosaur foot bone.  What more could a 7 year old ask for?
The last time we were here Charlie was wearing that tiny triceratops shirt.
 Now that's a big fish!
We stopped to see a real paleontologist working on a skull fossil and all Viola wanted to do was watch the TV.
We also popped by California to see the condors.
And some critters in the Galapagos.
And my favorite, the hall of gems and minerals.  Viola loved the giant crystal.  You don't have to tell a girl that she likes shiny things.
The special exhibit on the history of chocolate was only mildly interesting. There was a lot of reading and not a lot of eating chocolate.  And to make it more painful there was a smell of chocolate in the air.
So we made a splurge at the gift shop and got some delicious chocolate to complete the educational experience.  We learned that we still really like chocolate.
