We are experiencing very fine weather...

...As long as you get up and out before the sun is scorching hot.
As soon as breakfast (homemade blueberry bagels, not to toot my own horn) was done, we hopped on the bikes and headed to the park.  Well, I walked but it's getting harder and harder to keep up with these two speedsters.
My favorite spot, it's in the middle of our neighborhood but all you can see is the pond, its reflection and the distant foot hills.  Charlie was the only one will to stop and get "pictured" here.  But Viola did find some treasures on the edge of the pond.

Shoes immediately removed upon arrival to the park.
A rock the looks like a tooth.
And some lovely people had forgotten these buckets so the busy bodies got to work "making parchment paper".
Then the dare devils wanted to ride down the hill over the bridge which seemed like a good idea until...
...I came to the realization that Charlie's steering skills were not quite developed enough and Viola's "wait your turn" skills were also not up for the challenge.  This ended up in a pile.  "All right no more of that."
But it was a good morning.

Not Enough Mud

The kids have been in need of mud so Brian helped engineer a new mud pit in an area of the yard where grass is not expected to grow.  It was agreed that hose water is COLD!
 Boys love trucks.
 Complete with bridges.

Summer Time and the Living is Easy

Viola discovered that sidewalk chalk makes excellent blue eyeshadow.
I must admit that in order to get this photo in the grass I had to provide the model with a pickle.  You do what you've got to do.

Happy Forth of July

We celebrated with a quiet day at home including sack races, hot dogs, watermelon and popsicles.  Then we had a not so quiet walk to the park to see the fireworks.  Charlie fell asleep on the way and missed the whole thing but Viola's excitement made it worth dealing with the crowd of drunken and foul mouthed college students.

It's Raining

Good thing we have a teepee in which to weather the storm.
