Annual Flower Trial Garden Frolick

We took a walk to the CSU's Annual Garden with Anna and Effie this morning before the sun started to beat down intensly as it does in the afternoon these days.  It was a lovely time.
The little ones enjoyed some stroller hang out time.  Charlie showed Effie with his apple eating skills, she seemed pretty impressed.
Effie was so kind as to let Viola ride on the front of her stroller.  Thanks Effie.  (Check out those chunky thighs. Enjoy it while you can Effie,  One day you might feel self conscious about those folds)

First Day of Pre-K

We took a sunny walk to school this morning for the first day "all by herself".

Not at all sad to say good bye to Momma and Charlie.

At pickup, happy and pink cheeked.
I think that Charlie missed his big sister, he leaned and hugged on her all the way home.
And there might have been a little grabbing, pinching and hitting to go with the love.  But that's what little brothers are good at.
We came across this beautiful butterfly on the walk home.  That's something that you don't see from the car.  I love walking to/from school!

 And a bee!
And a special Chocolate Banana Dinosaur cake for the first day of school.  Complete with yogurt raisin dinosaur eggs and a #1 candle to blow out (left over from Charlie's birthday)
And best of all she can't wait to go back!

What would a wood sprite drink?

This one drinks honey sweetened Cucumber Lime Mint juice and wears a crown of mint leaves.
A gnome came along and guzzled the wood sprite's juice.
And made a mess of himself.
But she didn't care,  she just wanted to dance and twirl barefoot in the grass.

Saturday

Brian had to work so I took the kiddos to the farmer's market.  It's so nice being able to walk into town.  This passenger train was parked next to the market, no one knew why but Charlie really liked it and waved at it even though it was empty.
Enjoying the fruits of the market,  Charlie enjoyed a lemon cucumber and Viola had a juicy red tomato.

We caught the USA Pro Challenge bike race at a friend's house in the afternoon.  Viola made a sign that said "watch out for big cars" but I translated it into English so that the cyclists could read it.
It's a good message for anyone who rides a bike.
I wanted to bring my camera and try my hand at race photography but in the rush to get out of the house I forgot it.  So this photo is brought to you by the iphone.

Pre-School Open House

We got to spend the morning at Viola's school so that she could feel comfortable on her first day.  She had gotten a bit of school related anxiety but now that she know there is play-dough and a giant pile of sand school might be OK.

New things made out of wood, by Brian

I don't mean to brag but my husband is kind of amazing when it comes to making things out of wood.  So here are the latest additions to the Brian Newell Collection:
The Refrigerator
 The cutting board
 Shelves by the door
My super sleek business card holder, I really look forward to pulling this thing out when I hand out my business cards.  Because I'm a business woman now!
And the aforementioned built in book shelves.

I keep filling Charlie's bowl with cereal and he keeps coming back for more.

I think that Viola has him trained to get more cereal from me then she eats it all.  That's what it's like being the younger sibling.  I can recall being sent to the kitchen often by my brothers.

Hanging out in Mama and Papa's Bed

This is Charlie's bowl. He has cereal in it almost every morning.
He can get off of the bed by himself but usually gets to this point and aborts mission.
Viola loves her Brain-quest.  But she's mastered the 4 year old one, I think it's time for an upgrade.

28mm F1.8

Brian and I had some fun trying out the new lens in the backyard.
Viola taught Charlie how to jump.

 Kale friend
We have been going through a lot of band-aids lately.
 Grumpy Behr
This face definitely required a bath,  and since I couldn't remember when the last bath was it was about time anyway.
