A lot of work to do around the homestead.

I wanted to get photos of the kiddos in the wind.  They said "We have work to do."
Charlie painted the fence with melting yard ice.
Viola put dead garden plants in the cone.
Charlie chased some wind and brandished a coriander stem.
It was a good day's work.

Ice-Schmice.

Thermometers read 75 today so Viola took that to mean Summer.  She put on shorts and decided to run barefoot through the backyard.  Nevermind the fact that there are still patches of ice.  Viola said that her feet were very cold.  Charlie kept his shoes on.  He's no fool.
While the temperature was rising outside this guy was fighting a fever of 103.  We watched a lot of shows, medicated and snuggled.  He did rally when Viola got home for some play time though.

Above 50°

So we got out and sloshed through some melting snow at the Red Fox Meadows.

Smoking's Bad

I'm not sure why but Viola decided that we needed a very large no smoking sign and made this mask to protect herself from second hand smoke.  We could probably make millions on the technology!

First Day of School for this Guy

Charlie got all of his gear on and headed off to preschool for the first time today.
He had this masterpiece to show for his first day.  Not too shabby.

The Jackson Zoo

We took a lovely afternoon stroll/run through the Jackson Zoo while we were in Mississippi over New Years.  We were there just in time to see all of the animals wait impatiently for their dinners.
Some standing on one foot practice.  The flamingos were impressed.
Viola sang here kookaburra song for the Kookaburra.  He flew away.  I'm not sure what that means.
The lemurs made a lot of noise.  Why? I don't know they wouldn't tell us.
And Viola's best discovery, a gumball from the gumball tree.  She'd never seen one before!
