Easter Weekend with the Wares

Some of our favorite people came to visit this weekend.  The Wares were our neighbors right after Charlie was born.  They live in Salt Lake City now but we still get together for good times as often as we can.  This time we got to host them in our home.  We ate good food, drank lots of tea (a little beer), and stayed up late talking.  It was lovely.
We spent Saturday being tourists in Old Town Ft. Collins with the James.
This happened.  Peter was already dressed and when Charlie went to get ready he came down wearing matching clothes.  I blame myself for buying multiple sizes in the same clothes. (Charlie wore that onesie when he was a baby.)
The kiddos talked Eric into reading multiple Beatrix Potter books with his English accent.
Then we celebrated Easter with worship at our church and a colorful deviled egg brunch before the Wares hit the road back to Salt Lake.
Beets for the pink, purple cabbage and baking soda for the blue, and onion skins and turmeric for the yellow.
If you were wondering, they were yummy!
 Even Eden thought so.
 We love these people.
I couldn't resist taking some pictures of this cutie.

 Viola loved playing with Eden.
We may have already worked out a betrothal.
Davis was doing something ridiculous here to make the babies smile.
It didn't work.
Viola loves time with her "best of all friends."

A Day with Bunny and Monkey

Don't think of spring snow as taking away warm days think of it as more time for hats.

 Gratuitous cuteness.
And guess who figured out how to roll over from back to front?
This Peter.

Snow Day Shenanigans

 School is cancelled.
Antics ensued including, everybody tummy time.
Too many antics, everybody do worksheets!
Tired of worksheets, suit up and go outside.
 Tiny snowman.
Brian even got sent home from work early for to do his favorite fun-tivity, shoveling!
This is how he really feels about shoveling snow.
I can't help but think that it is super beautiful.

I tried to get Charlie and Viola to take a photo with me but they were too busy so here is proof that I too trudged out into the snow.

Thanks Daylight Savings Time

Even though I think daylight savings time is ridiculous, it is nice to all of a sudden have sunlight at 6pm.  The kiddos ran around in the yard and Brian burned some of the Christmas tree.  Good times.

Super Spider Man

Since he doesn't watch that kind of thing, Charlie has to learn about super-heroes on the streets/playground.  He has declared himself Super Spider Man. He flies, wears super fast sneakers, shoots lightening and spiderwebs at bad guys, and carries a hammer.

Clean Litte Lamb

It's Peter's turn to use the lamb towel.  He looks just as cute as the other two did.

Family Mountain Fun in "the greenest state in the land of the free"

The whole family got together in a mountain cottage in Monteagle, Tennessee.  The weather was lovely, daffodils were blooming, there was a mountain stream for the kids to frolic in, a porch to sit on, and we were nearly the only people there.  Pretty close to heaven.
That's the cottage we stayed in.

Plenty of time for silliness of all kinds.

 Lots of lovely lichens.
 So many daffodils.

No one ever complained about a hammock on a screened in porch in the mountains.

Charlie wore this dragon towel for most of the time.

We found a stage and the kids put together a skit for us.  It was hilarious!
 The whole gang of cousins.

Audrey found a rock shaped like Mississippi.
Garner and Addie practicing some Ninja Warrior skills.
There was even an early egg hunt.

Brian was also there but I some how didn't get a single picture of him.
