Viola has discovered Brian's Calvin and Hobbes books from his youth.

  I suppose in this scenario Viola is Hobbes since she has a tiger shirt on.

The last Christmas present just arrived in the mail (a bit late).  New striped socks to replace the 12-24 month socks that she has been wearing since she was in that age bracket.  There are two of each color but why limit your sock selection to matching pairs.  That's my girl.

Boy Meets Dog

Charlie just discovered Mary and spends a good deal of time inch-worming over to her.  Mary lets him get just within reach then backs up.  Then she goes to the top of the stairs where she knows that she is out of tiny hand reach.  But for the most part Mary is a pretty good sport.

"Hey, No Fair!"

Charlie wants so desperately to put those tiny Lego pieces in his mouth.  I think it was a good time to get Legos for Viola, don't you?

Animal House

 This house that Brian and Viola built is over run with animals.  Wolf is taking a shower, kangaroo and dappled horse are sharing some fresh baked raspberries, and Moose just will not get out of the bathroom.

 I'm not sure how but there is a hedgehog taking a nap in the middle of all of that commotion.

Christmas

We had a great Christmas.  Lots of time with Rose and good friends.  And a fair amount of eating as well.
And on with kids opening presents...
Starting with the stocking.  Viola got every thing lined up including her big treat, a York peppermint patty!

Which she immediately gobbled up, can we say sugar high.

Doll furniture for her block house, yay!

 And I got to use my floral design skills to put an itty bitty floral arrangement together for the calico critters.

Puppy love.

 Viola picked out this ball for Charlie.  It passed the mouth test.

 Charlie also got a very cool wooden elephant.

 Viola gave Papa some assistance opening his present.  An antique tools jigsaw puzzle.

 And legos!

Merry Christmas.

Grandma is here and Charlie thinks that she is really good with a water bottle.

It's Still Alive

Almost three months now. 

Charlie went banans

 The boy had his first solids a couple days ago.  He knew just what to do.

 In the cheeks, past the gums look out diaper here it comes!

 Look at those buck teeth.  (that's banana)

 Big sister even helped feed the little fella.

 He's also enjoying some water from the old sippy kanteen.

 And here's the gratuitous cuteness.

Cotton-Headed-Ninny-Muggins

 I whipped this hat together for our Very Debbie Christmas Party last weekend. 

 Charlie makes a perfect Cotton-Headed-Ninny-Muggins.

It's a very merry Val-Pak Christmas

 For the past few years we have been decorating with catalog "snow-flakes" but the catalogs have not followed us to our new apartment so this year we used the Val-pak to trim the tree.  It's very festive and you can recycle them when the tree comes down and start over next year.

 Viola has really gotten into the idea of wrapping presents and has wrapped up many of her toys to place under the tree.  The beauty of it is that she gets to open as many presents as she wants.  And then re-wrap them.

This one is thanks to a local indian restaurant.

Look out for Charlie

 Although he's not actually crawling (he uses more of an inch-worm technique) this little guy is sure getting around. 

He saw that cookie, he wanted that cookie...

 ...he got that cookie.

 Look what he did for the first time today. 

Laundry Day

 Charlie helped me get the clothes out of the dryer (upstairs, thanks Davis and Anna).  He got a wild basket ride out of the deal.

 Sadly the closet is the only door-way that it works on so the poor lad is stuck jumping in the closet.  He doesn't seem to mind.

Viola built a special house just to brush your teeth in.

Now that's oral hygiene contentiousness.

Charlie's New Best Friend

Sorry for the blogging hiatus.  Brian has been studying for a math test and has been using the computer so no photo editing and blogging.
Anywho...Charlie's new favorite toy is Mr. Potato Head.  They understand each other.  They both like to stick out their tongues.

 Garner got some tips on working the wood from Brian.  He made a very nice spear for hunting in the Mohican way.
