White Thanksgiving

We woke up to a carpet of snow and it kept coming all day.  We had a fun morning at home then joined a sweet family from our church for dinner.  It was a lovely Thanksgiving.
Mary, Viola, and Charlie were all excited to get out and play in it.
Our official measurement was 5 1/2 inches around noon.
Then it was time for cookie baking, decorating, and eating.  The entire tray of cookies that got eaten could have something to do with the Thanksgiving dinners that did not get eaten.  Oh well.
The hands were supposed to get turned into turkeys but I think they were mostly just got smothered in icing and eaten before that amount of detail could be achieved.
And Peter wanted to show off his new garden gnome sweater.  And since we didn't manage to get pictures before dark and the best light in the house is the bathroom...there you go.

The Egg Drop

As a grand finale to Viola's study of forces and motion everyone made a contraption to house an egg that was dropped 100ft from a fire truck.  We have been anticipating this all semester and I was nervous that I would miss it due to having a baby (who is due on Monday).  Peter came early and got to take part in the festivities, snow, wind, and all.
He loved his first snow, as you can see.
Sadly the parachute on Viola's contraption got a bit twisted in the wind and did not open.  I think it still slowed the fall a bit though.
And...It survived!!! The design was so good that it didn't need the parachute.

 Thanks fireman!
She's one proud first-grader.  (In a good way)

First Bath in the BRÅVIKEN

Peter lost his belly button plug that means bath time for the little fellow.   And thanks to our landlords and IKEA our house has the perfect sink for giving baths to tiny people.
Now he's a clean bean ready for another full day of eating and sleeping.

The Brothers Newell

Charlie loves a turn with little Peter (nest of pillows required).

3 Days old

And already having gas.  He's going to fit right in.

Welcome Peter!

Peter Robin Newell born on 11.12.15 7lbs 14.4oz 20.5in.
He decided to come a bit early (38 weeks 3 days) but I'm not complaining.  He is much loved by his big brother and Sister, all they want to do is hold him and pet him.  All he wants to do is eat and sleep.

Brian and Peter taking a little snooze in the hospital.

Almost 38 weeks!

On Monday I will be 38 weeks pregnant with number three.  It seemed like a good time to try for an actual non phone belly shot.  Thanks to my tripod, white bathroom, and two children who had hunger and injury issues during this 10 minute period.  Here I am in all of my aching back, splitting pelvis, stretched out belly glory.
