Farewell Old Friend

We discovered today that our dear flamingo has been stolen from our front yard.  I got him when I was in high school and he has graced the yard of all of my homes.  Viola has come to love him and did not take the news well.  She stood in the yard screaming "come back flamingo" then broke into tears.  It was quite sad.  Who would do a thing like that to a child.

The good news is we still have one in the back although he is missing a leg. 

Tour de Viola

Viola has been getting in lots of cycling time on her very nifty balance bike that our friend Anna managed to get from some friends.  Yesterday we took the whole family (including a newly shaved and bathed Mary) to a park with lots of trails so that she could get some "miles" in.

Then she headed full speed to the playground to play.  With all of this amazing playground to climb all over guess what this one likes to do best.  Play in the sand. 

Bouldering

 Today we headed out to see some of the near-by scenery.  We first headed up toward Estes Park (near Rocky Mountain National Park)  then we took the scenic route down to Boulder.  I was really excited about seeing the stomping grounds of Mork and Mindy but I think that I was the only one.

 I caught my reflection and realized that I've got quite a belly on me.

 Then we went to the top of a mountain to get a nice view of the flat irons and beyond.

Larkburger

After finishing her little turkey burger Viola worked on her fixins.  It was delicious, if you come across a Larkburger stop in for one.

The Farm with a new friend

Viola and I met new friend Mariah at the Farm for some barnyard fun yesterday.  The girls got to feed sheep, chickens, goats and ducks.  One of the goats even ate Mariah's paper bag, they aren't kidding when they say that goats will eat anything.

Daily C

   I found Viola having her Emergen-C in some very nice light today so I grabbed the camera and caught the moment.

It's always so disappointing when you've had the last sip.

 Maybe there's just a drop more.

 Then she put on a funny face show, enjoy.

 

A Hint of Spring and We Are Off to the Park

 The weather at the beginning of this week was beautiful.  We decided to soak it up with a picnic in the park.

 Mmmmmmm, raisins.

 And some yummy garbanzos.

 Mary even got to enjoy the nice weather and the park with a roll in the grass.

 Viola wanted to hang on the tree like Winnie-the-Pooh.

 And on the walk back we even spotted some flowers.  It was very hard for Viola to not pick one but they were in someone's garden so that would have been tacky.

Then it was cold and snowed today,  go figure.
